Please join us in celebrating the anniversary of one of our outstanding employees!

Today we want to thank full time paramedic Ben L for his hard work and dedication to Lincoln County citizens for the past 8 years! We appreciate all you do!

December 3rd could have been a devastating and life changing day for one Lincoln County citizen, Brian, but thanks to quick thinking and immediate recognition of stroke symptoms Brian is alive and well today.

Brians wife Jodi noticed her husband wasn’t presenting normally and immediately called 911. Lincoln County paramedics Natacha and Christin arrived on scene and immediately recognized that Brian was exhibiting stroke like symptoms.

Brian was transported to Mercy Lincolns Emergency Department for an emergent CT Scan of his brain and emergency services. After stabilization, Brian was transported to Mercy St. Louis by Lincoln County paramedics Sarah and Kristy where a thrombectomy, a blood clot retrieval, was performed. Thanks to quick and fast recognition by all, Brian was able to be treated and then discharged home from the hospital just 4 days later! Brian is living a healthy, deficit free life!

Today, Brian and Jodi were able to meet with the Lincoln County paramedics and Mercy Lincoln team members who were vital to his survival!

SPECIAL NEEDS TRACKING AND AWARENESS RESPONSE SYSTEM

S.T.A.R.S

The ambulance district has joined several others in the St. Louis area that have started a new program called S.T.A.R.S. — Special Need Tracking and Awareness Response System.

The program is for special needs patents especially under the age of 18 and allows the district to be aware of any medical conditions it may encounter when responding to an emergency call.

The S.T.A.R.S. program was founded a few years ago by Shelby Cox, EMS liaison for Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center, and Tricia Casey, a paramedic with Rock Township Ambulance District. Once our district attended a meeting and learned more about the program, our administrators and paramedics agreed it would be beneficial to local families.

To learn more information about the S.T.A.R.S. Program, contact Battalion Chief Janet Norton, Lincoln County Ambulance District STARS Coordinator, at 636-528-8488  ext. 306 or [email protected] or fill out the form below and we will contact you.
