New Base Construction

LCAD is pleased to announce the moving and rebuilding of the ambulance base in Elsberry (Base 3, Medic 3).  The base will be moving to Hwy B and Tomahawk, staying in the city limits of Elsberry.  This move should occur in early spring of 2007, we have been housed in Elsberry since 1985 at 3305 N. Hwy 79.   This base has survived the great flood of 1993 and housed EMS personnel 24/7 since the inception of this base.  This move will put the crews in a more modern base, housing a safe room and a classroom that can be utilized by non-for-profit organizations.  This base will be identical to Base 5 at 101 Hwy E.  Stay up to date on our constructions and view pictures here.

Grant Update-Lincoln County Ambulance District Receives Grant To Update Communications Equipment

LCAD received a grant in the amount of $40,000 for an "inoperable communications swap out", or any radio that is non-narrow band compliant which will not be utilized after all of the radios are installed and switched.  This money was given by SEMA, State Emergency Management Agency;  this will allow LCAD to have new ambulance radios and new walkie-talkies.  We are working with A&W communications with the swap out.

Lincoln County Ambulance District Received Two Grants In 2005

LCAD applied for two grants in 2005 and received both of them. Linda Freymuth, Chief Medical Officer, applied for a grant with the Missouri Foundation for Health, for 50 AED's being strategically located throughout the county with Fire Districts/Departments, Sheriffs/Police Departments and off-duty EMS employees. These AED's will decrease the shock delivered time in a cardiac arrest situation. This grant was made possible in full by the Missouri Foundation for Health, which is a philanthropic organization that assists with the health of it's communities.

Another grant was received from FEMA, Department of Homeland Security, for 33 sets of PPE, Personal Protective Equipment/Gear, allowing EMS personnel protection from blood and bodily fluids, while caring for the sick or injured, this was the first year money was allocated to EMS agencies, that are publicly funded and not affiliated with a fire dept/dist. This grant was completed by Kyle Longinette, Paramedic; Greg Maddock, Paramedic Supervisor; and Darren Ketcherside, Lead Paramedic.
