❄️☃️ Snow is here—and unfortunately, it doesn’t appear to be leaving anytime soon.

A friendly reminder to our community: a wrecked or disabled vehicle may have already been checked. LCAD and fellow emergency agencies mark vehicles that have been assessed with yellow scene barrier tape. This tape may be secured to a mirror, door handle, or antenna and indicates the vehicle has been checked and that there are no occupants or hazards.

This helps minimize multiple 911 calls for the same vehicle, allowing emergency crews to remain available and operate safely during busy and hazardous conditions.

If you’re ever unsure, please don’t hesitate to call 911. Your safety—and the safety of our crews—always comes first.

As always, stay safe, stay warm and stay alert to road conditions. Below is an excellent tool to check road conditions

🎉 Congratulations are in order for three of your Lincoln County Ambulance District paramedics! 🎉

At last night’s monthly Board of Directors meeting, approval was granted to promote three highly deserving paramedics into expanded leadership roles within Lincoln County Ambulance District. We are proud to recognize their dedication, experience, and continued commitment to serving our community.

Mary Smith has been promoted from Captain to Battalion Chief. Mary will transition from B Shift to C Shift and will officially assume her new role on January 31, following the retirement of current Battalion Chief Claudette Owenby. Mary is a licensed Community Paramedic and has proudly served LCAD for 23 years. She was pinned by her daughter, Izzy.

Ben Meyer has been promoted from Paramedic to Captain. Ben will transfer from C Shift to B Shift, where he will fill Mary’s former Captain position. Ben is a licensed Critical Care Paramedic and has been employed with LCAD for 6 years. He was pinned by his brother, Cody, a fellow LCAD Critical Care Paramedic.

Sarah Czarnecki has been promoted into a newly formed position, MIH Battalion Chief. Sarah has served as LCAD’s MIH Liaison since 2024. Sarah is licensed as both a Community Paramedic and Critical Care Paramedic and has dedicated 23 years of service to LCAD. Sarah was pinned by her husband, Marty, a Captain with Lincoln County Fire Protection District.

👏 Congratulations to Mary, Ben, and Sarah on their well-earned promotions. We wish you continued success as you step into your new leadership roles and thank you for your ongoing dedication to Lincoln County Ambulance District and the community we serve.

We Do More Than Save Lives!

Lincoln County Ambulance District Paramedics and EMTs have formed their own 501 (c)3 charitable organization called the Lincoln County EMS Community Outreach.

The purpose of the Community Outreach is to foster a relationship with our community that goes beyond illness and trauma.  We are here as a not for profit resource of volunteers in your community helping  to improve lives through service and support of local businesses and charities.

Visit our Facebook page to see some of the projects we have been involved in.

SPECIAL NEEDS TRACKING AND AWARENESS RESPONSE SYSTEM

S.T.A.R.S

The ambulance district has joined several others in the St. Louis area that have started a new program called S.T.A.R.S. — Special Need Tracking and Awareness Response System.

The program is for special needs patents especially under the age of 18 and allows the district to be aware of any medical conditions it may encounter when responding to an emergency call.

The S.T.A.R.S. program was founded a few years ago by Shelby Cox, EMS liaison for Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center, and Tricia Casey, a paramedic with Rock Township Ambulance District. Once our district attended a meeting and learned more about the program, our administrators and paramedics agreed it would be beneficial to local families.

To learn more information about the S.T.A.R.S. Program, contact Battalion Chief Janet Norton, Lincoln County Ambulance District STARS Coordinator, at 636-528-8488  ext. 306 or [email protected] or fill out the form below and we will contact you.
